PM Modi to Visit Ukraine in August: First Trip Since 2022 Russia Invasion, Say Sources !

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Kyiv next month, marking his first trip to Ukraine since the 2022 Russian invasion. This visit follows a meeting between PM Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the G7 Summit in Italy last month.

The two leaders embraced as they greeted each other. On the day PM Modi secured a third term after the Lok Sabhal elections, Zelensky had congratulated him and extended an invitation for him to visit the war-torn country. During a phone conversation with President Zelenskyy in March this year, PM Modi explored avenues to enhance the India-Ukraine partnership and reaffirmed the nation’s people-centric approach, emphasizing the need for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the ongoing conflict. The Prime Minister assured that India would persist in its efforts to support a peaceful resolution.

India has consistently emphasized the need for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the ongoing war. Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s commitment to contributing to peace efforts. Additionally, he recently visited Moscow and emphasized the futility of seeking a solution through violence during his meeting with President Putin. He emphasized the importance of respecting the United Nations Charter and advocated for dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward.
