Centre Permits Aadhaar Authentication in UPSC Candidate Verification Process !

On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, the Center made history by enabling the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to voluntarily use Aadhaar-based identification to confirm candidates’ identities at registration and throughout the examination and recruiting process.

The action is significant since Puja Khedkar, a probationary IAS officer, was prohibited from all future examinations by the commission last month for unlawfully obtaining tries in the civil services examination beyond her eligibility, and her provisional candidature was canceled.
