Winning Elections with Money: PM’s Strong Words for Congress After Drug Bust !

In response to the Rs 5,000-crore drug bust in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made fun of the Congress, claiming that the party intends to encourage drug usage among the nation’s youth and utilize the proceeds to win elections.

On October 2, the Delhi Police raided a godown in Mahipalpur, south Delhi, and found more than 560 kilos of cocaine and 40 kilograms of hydroponically grown marijuana. The haul is believed to be worth over Rs 5,620 crore.

“Dehra has seen the recovery of drugs valued at thousands of crores. One of the Congressmen is the primary suspect in this cocaine conspiracy. PM Modi stated at a Maharashtra meeting that the Congress “wants to push the youth toward drugs and use that money to contest and win elections.”
In response to the incident, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed his displeasure on Friday, stating that Congress is allegedly using its political clout to facilitate drug trafficking, despite the Modi government’s “zero tolerance” policy on drugs and efforts to steer youth toward sports, education, and innovation.

Tushar Goyal, the primary accused who allegedly has ties to the Congress, has been identified despite the fact that five persons have been arrested in relation to the case.

Congress has denied any link with Tushar Goyal. But a controversy erupted when Goyal allegedly acknowledged on oath that he had previously presided over the Delhi Pradesh Congress’s RTI unit until 2022.
Investigators also found that Goyal listed his position as RTI Cell Chairman, Delhi Pradesh Congress, on a social media page.

Goyal shared pictures of himself with a number of well-known Congressmen on social media, including Haryana unit president Uday Bhan and Lok Sabha MP Deepender Singh Hooda. Goyal went under the handle “Dikki Goyal” on these platforms.

Tushar Goyal was fired from the Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress RTI department in October 2022, according to a post on X from the Congress, for engaging in anti-party activities. The party went on to say that he has no affiliation with the party since then.

The cocaine was brought into Delhi by road from several states, while the marijuana came from Phuket, Thailand, according to the authorities. The four suspects, according to the police, planned to sell a significant amount of drugs at rave parties, concerts, and posh areas in Delhi and other big cities.
