Who is the director acclaimed by reviewers for Vijay’s final movie?

Tamil actor Vijay has recently made an announcement stating that he plans to retire from the film industry next year in order to fully focus on his political career. His main objective is to work towards the 2026 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. However, before bidding farewell to the silver screen, Vijay will be working on his final film, titled Thalapathy 69, which is scheduled to begin shooting towards the end of this year.

The renowned RRR producer, DVV Danayya, has been given the opportunity to produce Vijay’s last film, and discussions are currently underway to finalize the director. According to the latest speculation, critically acclaimed director Vetrimaaran is being considered to helm Vijay’s 69th film. Vetrimaaran is known for his realistic and intense filmmaking style, and if everything falls into place, this will mark the first collaboration between Vetrimaaran and Vijay.

The film is expected to have a grand budget and is set to release next year. In the meantime, Vijay is currently shooting for his 68th film, titled GOAT, directed by Venkat Prabhu. In GOAT, Vijay will be seen in a dual role, and the film also features a talented ensemble cast including Mic Mohan, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila, Jayaram, Meenakshii Chaudhary, and Yogi Babu in important roles. The release of GOAT is scheduled for this year.
