WhatsApp, a widely used messaging application in India, boasts a vast user base worldwide. Many individuals kickstart their day by perusing WhatsApp messages and engaging with loved ones. In recent times, the Meta-owned company has introduced numerous enhancements to enrich the user experience. Presently, there are reports of WhatsApp diligently developing an additional feature that will streamline document sharing for its users.
According to a report from WA Beta Info, WhatsApp is currently experimenting with a new feature designed for Android users. The report suggests that the messaging app is considering the addition of document previews. This feature will enable users to see a small preview of a document before opening it, providing a quick glimpse of its contents. This preview will be particularly useful when sharing photos or videos, as it will allow users to identify the document without the need to open it. Currently, when sharing a photo or video as a document on WhatsApp, the recipient must download it to view it. However, with this new feature in development, this inconvenience will be eliminated.
Apart from this, WhatsApp is reportedly developing a function that will recommend contacts for chatting. These contacts are said to be individuals with whom the user has not interacted in a while.
Previously, the function was said to be exclusive to Android users, but the latest report from WA Beta Info indicates that iOS users will also receive this feature.
As per a screenshot shared by WA Beta Info, selected beta testers are currently testing the new feature, which aims to improve the communication experience. Positioned conveniently at the bottom of the chats list, this feature provides users with easy access to potential new conversations without interrupting their current chats.
It is important to note that users who do not wish to receive suggestions for starting new chats can simply opt out by closing the dedicated section at the bottom of the chats list.
Although WA Beta Info is a trustworthy source, it is essential to mention that the feature has not been officially announced by WhatsApp. Therefore, we must wait for an official announcement.
