The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) ultimately rejected Vinesh Phogat’s appeal for a shared silver medal, a decision that had been postponed three times. On Wednesday, August 14, the CAS issued its final ruling, affirming the International Olympic Committee’s earlier decision. Vinesh had sought a joint silver medal at the Paris Olympics after being eliminated on the day of her gold medal match, having weighed in at 50.100 kgs, which exceeded the weight limit for her final competition by 100 grams.
