Vande Metro to Connect Patna with Sasaram, DDU, and Jhajha: Service Begins in Two Months !

A correspondent from Jagran in Ara reports that the daily rail commute for passengers traveling from Ara to Patna, Buxar, and Sasaram is set to improve significantly in the near future. This enhancement will not only reduce travel time but also provide a more comfortable experience. The Vande Metro train is scheduled to commence operations on the route from DDU to Jhajha and from Patna Junction to Sasaram, passing through Ara Junction, within the next two months.

The Indian Railways aims to introduce the Vande Metro train by late September or October. Presently, trials for the train coaches are underway. The East Central Railway is expected to receive 20 train sets. On Thursday, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav also announced in Parliament the intention to launch this special train service for short-distance travel soon.

A high-ranking official from the Hajipur Railway Zone has indicated that this train may consist of between 12 and 16 coaches. Each coach will feature a seating configuration similar to that of the Delhi Metro. Passengers will not be required to reserve tickets for travel on this train. The Vande Metro is set to operate between various stations located within a distance of less than 200 kilometers.

Travelers will enjoy a swift shuttle experience while using the train. The current maximum speed of the passenger trains is between 60 and 70 kilometers per hour. In contrast, the Vande Metro train will have a maximum speed limit of 130 kilometers per hour. Consequently, the journey from Ara to Patna can be completed in one hour, with stops at all stations along the route.

Currently, the journey time for the passenger train from Ara to Patna exceeds two hours and fifteen minutes. The design of the Vande Bharat train has been developed in collaboration with the Integral Coach Factory located in Chennai and the Research Design and Standards Organization based in Lucknow. This train will offer both first-class and general-class accommodations.

Passengers will have the option to purchase a Monthly Season Ticket (MST) for both classes. Although the fare structure has yet to be announced, it is anticipated that the prices will be marginally higher than those of the existing local trains. A notable feature of this train is its operation on tracks without the need for a traditional locomotive engine.

The maximum speed will be 130

The appearance and structure of Vande Metro trains surpass that of other local metro trains. At present, EMU trains hold the title for the fastest speed among local trains. Its speed limit will be around one and a half times that of EMU. Similar to metro trains, it will be equipped with automatic gates, mobile charging sockets, and ambient lighting. For security purposes, CCTV cameras will be fitted inside the train. Additionally, the ‘Kavach’ train anti-collision system has been implemented to ensure the safety of passengers.

A list will be prepared

The roster is being organized based on the request from the Railway Ministry, the blueprint is being crafted with consideration for the busiest routes of the zone. – Saraswati Chandra, Chief Public Relations Officer, Hajipur Railway Zone.
