Yami Gautam and her husband Aditya Dhar have joined forces for their debut collaboration in the film “Article 370.” This highly anticipated movie, centered around the Indian Constitution’s Article 370, is set to hit theaters this week. Release date and cast of Article 370
Article 370 is set to hit theaters nationwide on February 23rd. The film stars Yami Gautam as the protagonist, portraying the character of spy Zooni Haksar. Priyamani, known for her role in “The Family Man,” takes on the role of Rajeshwari Swaminathan. Kiran Karmarkar portrays the Home Minister, drawing inspiration from Amit Shah, while Arun Govil embodies the character of the Prime Minister, inspired by Narendra Modi.
Vaibhav Tatwawadi, who plays Yash Chauhan in the movie, is seen alongside the Indian army, while Sumit Kaul’s character faces interrogation from a neighboring country, likely Pakistan. Ashwini Koul portrays Zakir Naikoo, and Raj Arjun takes on the role of Khawar Ali. Divya Seth Shah also plays a pivotal role in the film.
The official trailer for Article 370 was released on February 8th, revealing the moment when Yami’s pregnancy was confirmed in the presence of her husband, Aditya Dhar, who is also the film’s producer. The trailer highlights the Prime Minister’s efforts to abolish Article 370 from the Indian Constitution, thereby establishing Kashmir as an integral part of India.
Rajeshwari selects Zooni for the mission of peacefully revoking Article 370, despite facing numerous challenges and being advised that India is a safer place for her than Kashmir. The film, directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, emphasizes the determination of the Prime Minister and Home Minister towards this project, as well as Zooni’s role in its execution. This story is inspired by the real-life events of August 2019, when Article 370 was repealed from the Indian Constitution.
