Amitabh Bachchan’s upcoming role in Nag Ashwin’s futuristic film Kalki 2898 AD has been a highly anticipated topic of discussion in recent months. The project, which also stars Deepika Padukone and Prabhas, is considered to be a significant one for the veteran actor. Recently, the filmmakers released a new poster featuring Bachchan, and during the Live IPL match between RCB and KKR, a new promo for Kalki 28982 AD was unveiled.

The promotional material discloses that Amitabh Bachchan will portray the character of Ashwatthama in the forthcoming movie. The teaser commences with a child questioning Big B if it is accurate that he is immortal. Subsequently, the esteemed actor unveils his complete appearance and declares, “I am awaiting the manifestation of the ten avatars since the Dwapar yug. The son of Dronacharya, Ashwatthama.”
About the film
Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjatanthi Movies, is reported to be the most expensive Indian film ever made, with a budget of Rs 600 crore. Prabhas takes on the lead role in the film, while Deepika Padukone joins him as the female lead, marking their first on-screen collaboration.
In addition to Prabhas and Deepika, the film also features Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani in significant roles. The highly anticipated Kalki 2898 AD is set to hit theaters worldwide on May 9, 2024.
This film also brings together Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan for the third time, following their previous collaborations in Piku and Aarakshan. Furthermore, they will reunite for the official Hindi adaptation of Robert De Niro’s film, The Intern.
