The Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement on Friday urging all Indian citizens to refrain from traveling to Iran or Israel until further notice due to the security concerns in the area. Additionally, it recommended that Indian residents in those countries contact their respective embassies and register themselves.

The external affairs ministry has issued a statement advising all Indians to refrain from traveling to Iran or Israel until further notice, considering the current situation in the region. Additionally, individuals who are currently residing in Iran or Israel are urged to contact the Indian Embassies in those countries and register themselves.

Travel advisory for Iran and Israel: In view of the prevailing situation in the region, all Indians are advised not to travel to Iran or Israel till further notice. For any assistance, please contact the Embassy at: cons.tehran@mea.gov.in; +98-21-88755103-5; +989128109115

It is also required that individuals take extreme care regarding their safety and limit their movements to the bare minimum, as stated in the statement.

The French government has issued a warning to French nationals, advising against traveling to Iran, Israel, Lebanon, or the Palestinian territories. This caution comes after the US embassy in Israel announced restrictions on the movements of its diplomats due to security concerns. Additionally, Lufthansa, a German airline, has extended the temporary suspension of flights to and from Tehran until Saturday.

According to a report by CBS News, Iran is allegedly planning to launch an attack on Israel, using over 100 drones and numerous missiles to target its military resources. The Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, stated that he received phone calls from his German, British, and Australian counterparts, including German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. In a post on X, the Iranian minister conveyed his message to them, emphasizing that if the Zionist regime violates the immunity of diplomatic individuals and places, and the UN Security Council fails to condemn it, then “legitimate defense… is a necessity.”

The Iranian minister further clarified that Iran does not intend to escalate the conflict any further. However, an official close to the Iranian leadership, speaking to The Wall Street Journal, revealed that while no final decision has been made, plans for an attack are being developed. The person also mentioned that Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khomeini is overseeing the assessment of these attack plans.

“The strike plans are in front of the Supreme Leader and he is still weighing the political risk,” the aforementioned person said.

Iran has vowed retaliation after an Israeli strike that killed seven members of Tehran’s elite Revolutionary Guards, including two generals, in Syria earlier this month.

Among the dead were generals Mohammad Reza Zahedi and Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, both senior commanders in the Quds Force, the IRGC’s foreign operations arm.

Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei again warned Israel Wednesday that it “will be punished” for a Damascus air strike that killed seven Revolutionary Guards, two of them generals.

“The evil regime made a mistake in this regard. It must be punished and will be punished,” Khamenei said in a televised speech after Eid al-Adha prayers in Tehran.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz swiftly riposted with a Persian-language statement on social media site X.

“If Iran attacks from its territory, Israel will respond and attack Iran,” he said.
