Patna: Late last night, a member of Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal-United (JDU) was fatally shot while returning from a wedding function in Patna, according to the police. The incident took place in Parsa Bazar village, where another individual named Munmum Kumar was also injured in the gunfire. R Singh, the police station in-charge of Punpun, stated that Saurabh, the youth leader, was shot twice in the head by four unidentified men on motorcycles, while Munmun was struck three times.
Both victims were immediately taken to a hospital, where Saurabh was pronounced dead upon arrival, while Munmun remains in a critical condition. Following the incident, a team from the Patna Police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. The murder has sparked outrage among local residents, leading to a road blockade in protest.
