Tina Dabi Takes Charge as Barmer Collector, Husband Pradeep Gawande Assigned to Nearby District !

The Rajasthan government, led by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, reorganized the state’s administrative structure in a significant late-night move on Thursday. A major change in Rajasthan’s governance was brought about by the transfer of more than 100 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) personnel.

Ten IAS officers who were waiting to be posted have been given new tasks, while 96 officers have been reassigned to new posts, according to an official order provided by the Department of Personnel.

Prominent figures in this reorganization include IAS officers Tina Dabi and her spouse Pradeep Gawande. Tina Dabi has been appointed as the District Collector of Barmer. She was most recently the Commissioner of the Employment Guarantee Scheme (EGS) in Jaipur. Prior to her current role as the District Collector of Jaisalmer, Dabi gained notoriety in 2015 as the first female UPSC test topper. Gawande, who previously based in Bikaner, will now take on the position of Jalore District Collector.

Star of Indian bureaucracy, Tina Dabi

Renowned in Indian bureaucracy, Tina Dabi shot to national prominence in 2015 after passing the coveted UPSC test on her first try. In Ajmer, she started her career in administration as an Assistant Collector in 2017. After two years and a lot of media attention, her previous marriage to IAS officer Athar Aamir Khan terminated in 2020. Alongside her younger sister Ria Dabi, who also passed the UPSC exam and achieved an all-India rank of 15 in 2020, Dabi’s ascent through the ranks is still making headlines.

Who is Pradeep Gawande?

Born in Maharashtra on December 9, 1980, Pradeep Gawande is an IAS officer from the 2013 batch who brings a varied background to the position. Gawande, a certified physician, passed the UPSC exam after earning his MBBS degree. Among his most recent jobs was a lengthy stint as Churu’s Collector.
Following their 2022 marriage, the pair further cemented their career and personal accomplishments in September 2023 with the arrival of their first child, a baby boy.
