Thalapathy Vijay declared his intention to retire from the Film Industry after two more movies, as he prepares to embark on his Political Journey !

On February 2, Thalapathy Vijay made a significant announcement regarding his political aspirations by launching his own party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. In a formal statement, he expressed his intention to step away from the world of cinema after completing two more films, in order to fully dedicate himself to his political career.

Tamil actor Thalapathy Vijay, one of the celebrated performers in the South, announced his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, on February 2. Much to the surprise of his fans, he also announced his exit from the world of cinema. In a statement, Vijay mentioned that he will quit cinema after completing two films (‘GOAT’ and an untitled film) to become a full-fledged politician in Tamil Nadu.

THALAPATHY VIJAY TO QUIT CINEMA

Vijay, the renowned actor, made a significant announcement on February 2 regarding his political aspirations. This announcement came shortly after a general body meeting. His political party members are set to participate in the upcoming 2026 elections.

On Friday, Vijay finally revealed his long-awaited entry into politics in Tamil Nadu. Speculations about his political career had been circulating on social media for several months. These rumors gained momentum after his interactions with Class 10 and 12 students, as well as his assistance to those affected by recent floods.

In a comprehensive statement, Vijay disclosed the name of his party, its ideologies, and his decision to step away from the film industry. His statement emphasized the significance of politics to him, stating, “Politics is not merely a profession, but a sacred duty. I have come to realize that I must learn the intricacies of politics from my predecessors, not just aim for political success. Mentally, I am preparing myself for this journey. Politics is not a mere pastime; it is my utmost aspiration. I am determined to fully immerse myself in it. Therefore, I will fulfill my commitment to complete one more film before dedicating myself entirely to becoming a politician. This is my way of repaying the debt I owe to the people of Tamil Nadu.”

ON THE WORK FRONT FOR VIJAY

Thalapathy Vijay recently appeared in director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film ‘Leo’. Currently, the actor is busy filming director Venkat Prabhu’s ‘Greatest of All Time’ or ‘GOAT’. This high-budget entertainer is scheduled to hit theaters later this year.

According to Vijay’s statement, he has plans to work on another film after ‘GOAT’, which will mark his 69th film. Meanwhile, there are speculations that he might collaborate with Karthik Subbaraj for an upcoming project. However, an official announcement regarding this is still pending.
