Telangana minister Konda Surekha has apologized for accusing Bharat Raksha Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao of involvement in the divorce of actresses Samantha Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya. Her apology came after KTR handed her a legal notice requesting that she delete her statement and apologise or face legal action.
In a series of tweets, Konda Surekha stated that her statements were intended to criticize KTR’s “belitting of women” rather than damage anyone’s feelings. She stated that her words were not intended to denigrate Samantha Prabhu’s family and apologized if they had hurt her.
“Throughout my political career, I have never referenced or brought up matters with anyone’s family for political benefit. I didn’t insult your family or Ms @Samanthaprabhu2. I never use someone’s personal troubles to target them, and I didn’t do so in your situation. “That’s not my style or intention,” she explained.
“I have never crossed the line in my political discourse, nor have I made false accusations. If my remarks have harmed or insulted you, I apologize. “I always strive to maintain the dignity of my profession,” she stated.
“My statements are intended to challenge a leader’s dismissal of women, not to offend your @Samanthaprabhu2 sentiments. The way you’ve grown up with self-power is not just admirable to me, but also ideal,” the minister wrote on Twitter.
On social media on Tuesday, a video went viral in which Konda Surekha accused KTR of interfering in the private lives of celebrities and connecting him to drug-related issues. The minister also discussed Samantha Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya’s divorce in the video, claiming KTR was the reason behind it.
Naga Chaitanya’s divorce with KTR was all his fault. This is because you had to give Samantha to me in order to save N Convention Hall from demolition. Samantha was coerced by Nagarjuna to visit KTR, where they were told to either listen to them or have a divorce. That is the reason why the divorce took place. The entire industry is aware of it, she claimed.”I have never stepped outside the lines in my political career.
“KTR is the cause of Samantha’s injustice. Due to drug cases, two or three heroines have also entered into early marriages. Along with Rakul Preet, two or three more heroines also got married. Why must we endure this headache (the drug cases) and tie the knot so quickly? They threatened them, made records, and tapped phones using the authority they previously held, she said.
Following Konda Surekha’s comments, a flurry of celebrities, including Samantha Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya, attacked the minister.
Konda Surekha was served a legal notice by KTR, who referred to her comments as “baseless and malicious” and charged that she was trying to damage his name by making unsupported allegations.
Dasoju Sravan, the BRS spokesperson, urged that Konda Surekha be removed from her ministerial position by the Congress. “If Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge ji truly believe in humanity and decency in politics, she must be sacked from her ministerial post in the Telangana government,” he stated.
In 2021, Samantha Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya declared their separation. In August of this year, Naga Chaitanya and actor Sobhita Dhulipala got engaged.
