On Monday, the Supreme Court declined to delay the NEET-PG examination set for Sunday, dismissing a petition that raised concerns regarding the distribution of examination centres and the normalisation of scores for two cohorts. The court noted that “two lakh students and four lakh parents will suffer” if the request is granted, questioning, “Should we jeopardize the careers of two lakh students at the request of five petitioners?”
Chief Justice DY Chandrachud stated, “It is unacceptable to jeopardize the careers of numerous candidates solely due to the actions of these petitioners,” and consequently directed, “We will not consider the request.”
