“Supreme Court Asserts Zero Tolerance for NEET Negligence: 0.001% Lapses Unacceptable”

The Centre and the National Testing Agency (NTA) have been issued a notice by the Supreme Court on Monday regarding the alleged paper leaks and malpractices in the NEET-UG 2024 exam. The bench emphasized the importance of thoroughly addressing even the slightest negligence, stating that individuals who deceive the system and become doctors pose a greater threat to society. The Supreme Court acknowledged the efforts of the aspirants who have prepared for the entrance examination and urged the Centre and the NTA to rectify any mistakes instead of treating the petitions as adversarial litigation.

The bench emphasized the need for the NTA to act fairly and transparently, inspiring confidence in their performance. Timely action from the testing organization was also expected by the Supreme Court. The next hearing on this matter is scheduled for July 8. The Supreme Court dismissed emotional arguments made by petitioners seeking a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities in the exam and reiterated that it will not stay the NEET counseling process.
