“Startup Mahakumbh 2024: Uniting a Thousand Innovators, Investors, Incubators on March 18 for Entrepreneurial Excellence”

NEW DELHI: Bharat Mandapam will host a gathering of over 1,000 startups, along with numerous investors and incubators, from March 18 onwards. This three-day event, organized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), aims to bring together startups, unicorns, investors, industry experts, and ecosystem stakeholders.

According to a statement by DPIIT, this mega startup event will not only provide a platform for networking but also facilitate the exchange of ideas to strengthen India’s startup ecosystem. The event will feature various activities such as mentoring sessions, masterclasses, keynote addresses, and Unicorn roundtables.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will provide further details about this grand event on February 27. The government has been actively promoting startups in the country, with the introduction of the Startup India Action Plan in 2016.

The Startup India initiative, introduced in January 2016, aims to create a robust environment for fostering innovation, supporting startups, and promoting investments in the country’s startup ecosystem. Various programs have been implemented by the government to support these businesses, such as the Startup India seed fund scheme, fund of fund scheme, and credit guarantee scheme. The total count of registered startups has surged to more than 1.17 lakh, a significant increase from the mere 400 in 2016.
