In a pointed observation, Shashi Tharoor has remarked on Prime Minister Modi’s agenda, highlighting the significance of inaugurating the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and a Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi. Tharoor insinuates that these actions may be seen as a strategic maneuver in anticipation of the 2024 Lok Sabha Election.
Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has raised objections against the invitation extended to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the inauguration of a Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, slated for February next year. Moreover, Tharoor pointed out that the Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on January 22, expressing criticism regarding these consecutive events.
Shashi Tharoor, a senior Congress leader, highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming inaugurations of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22nd and the BAPS Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi on February 14th. Tharoor implied a potential timing strategy related to the calling of elections soon after these events.
Tharoor drew attention to the shifting narratives around Modi’s leadership. Initially presented in 2009 as an emblem of economic development and Gujarat’s CEO promising nationwide progress, the narrative faltered after the disruptive effects of demonetization. Tharoor noted that the Pulwama terrorist attack in 2019 allowed Modi to pivot the general election narrative toward national security.
Looking ahead to 2024, Tharoor predicted a return to the BJP’s fundamental messaging. He suggested that the BJP might present Narendra Modi once again to the nation as a “Hindu Hriday Samrat,” emphasizing a core message centered on Hindu sentiments and values.
