Prashanth Neel’s directorial venture, ‘Salaar: Part One- Ceasefire’, made a remarkable impact at the box office with its historic opening. Starring Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Shruti Haasan in pivotal roles, the film garnered immense craze and buzz among the audience. Surpassing the first-day collections of ‘Animal’, ‘Jawan’, and ‘Pathaan’, ‘Salaar’ emerged as the biggest blockbuster of the year.
‘SALAAR’ BOX OFFICE COLLECTION
Following the disappointment of Prabhas’ previous film, ‘Adipurush’, his fans had high hopes for the latest release, ‘Salaar’. This mass action movie received an overwhelming response from fans, resulting in a phenomenal box office performance. Early estimates suggest that the film amassed a staggering Rs 95 crore on its opening day.
The film’s highest earnings were recorded in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where it collected Rs 70 crore. In Telugu areas, it achieved an impressive overall occupancy rate of 88.93 percent. Additionally, ‘Salaar’ performed exceptionally well in Karnataka and Kerala, raking in Rs 12 crore and Rs 5 crore, respectively, on its opening day.
With its soaring success, ‘Salaar’ has surpassed the opening collections of SRK’s ‘Pathaan’, ‘Jawan’, and Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’, making it the biggest opener of 2023. While ‘Pathaan’ earned Rs 57 crore on its first day in India, ‘Jawan’ and ‘Animal’ reported openings of Rs 75 crore and Rs 63 crore, respectively.
The film ‘Salaar’ will be released in two parts. The first part is titled ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’, and the second part is titled ‘Shouryaanga Parvam’. Prabhas portrays the character of Deva/Salaar, Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the role of Varadharaja Mannar, Jagapathi Babu appears as Rajamannar, and Shruti Haasan portrays the character of Aadya in ‘Salaar’.
‘Salaar: Part One – Ceasefire’ has been released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. It is currently competing with Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Dunki’ at the box office.
