HanuMan Review: Director Prasanth Varma, renowned for his films like Awe and Zombie Reddy, has once again collaborated with young actor Teja Sajja to present HanuMan, a Telugu-language superhero film, as part of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe. This Sankranti release, featuring Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Vinay Rai, skillfully combines elements of Indian mythology with a contemporary narrative. The movie revolves around the clash between two central characters: Hanumanthu, the rightful possessor of divine powers, and Michael, the antagonist driven by his desperate pursuit of the same supernatural abilities. Prasanth seamlessly integrates familiar elements from various sources, incorporating CGI to enhance the protagonist’s supernatural presence in the rural village setting. The story also explores the rural dynamics and challenges faced by Anjanadri, including a love story and the struggles of the villagers under oppressive practices.
Teja Sajja delivers a convincing performance as Hanumanthu, initially portraying him as a mischievous thief and later as the savior of Anjanadri. This film is bound to elevate his status in the industry. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, in the role of Anjamma, Hanumanthu’s elder sister, impresses with her powerful performance. She embodies a perfect blend of beauty and strength. Amritha Aiyer brings a sense of balance to the narrative as Meenakshi, a doctor and the daughter of a school teacher. The love story between Hanumanthu and Meenakshi becomes an integral part of the plot. Vinay Rai, portraying the antagonist, fits the role of a typical supervillain and significantly contributes to the thrilling storyline. Each member of the cast, including Vennela Kishore, Samuthirakani, Getup Srinu, Satya, and Raj Deepak Shetty, adds depth and authenticity to their respective characters.
