New Delhi : Hindu Sena workers in Delhi, the national capital of India, have recently voiced their demand to rename Babar Road to Ayodhya Road. These individuals took action by affixing posters of Ayodhya Marg on the plaque of Babar Road.
Vishnu Gupta, the President of Hindu Sena, expressed that their organization has been persistently advocating for the change of Babar Road’s name. Gupta emphasized that India, being the homeland of revered figures like Lord Shri Ram, Shri Krishna, Shri Valmiki, and Guru Ravidas, should not have a road named after Babar. With the construction of the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya, there is no justification for retaining the name Babar Road in Delhi.
It is noteworthy that the consecration of Ral Lalla’s life will take place on January 22 at the newly constructed Ram temple in Ayodhya. This temple stands on the site where a mosque, originally built in the name of the first Mughal ruler Babar, once stood. On January 8, Hindu Sena had already submitted a letter to the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC), urging them to rename Babar Road as Ayodhya Marg.
In his letter to the Chairman of NDMC, Vishnu Gupta, the National President of Hindu Sena, highlighted the atrocities committed by Babar, referring to him as a “Jihadi.” Gupta emphasized that Babar had inflicted suffering upon the people of India, forcibly converted Hindus, demolished their sacred places, and constructed mosques upon them.
Additionally, he penned the following statement: ‘It is common knowledge that Babar Road is situated in Bengali Market of New Delhi, and we are all familiar with the narrative surrounding Babar, who was regarded as an infiltrator, invader, and Jihadi terrorist. The mention of Babar Road serves as a reminder of the brutalities and injustices inflicted upon Hindus by Babar. Hence, I kindly urge you to consider renaming this road as Ayodhya Marg.’
