“Rahul Gandhi’s Decision: Will He Leave Rae Bareli or Wayanad? The Answer Revealed”

Rahul Gandhi’s latest news has revealed some significant developments. According to reliable sources, despite winning both the Rae Bareli seat in Uttar Pradesh and the Wayanad seat in Kerala, Rahul Gandhi has decided to retain the Rae Bareli seat for himself. Consequently, he will vacate the Wayanad seat. Initially, there were speculations that Priyanka Gandhi might contest from Wayanad, but it appears that she is currently uninterested in pursuing this opportunity.

Reports suggest that Priyanka Gandhi intends to remain in Uttar Pradesh and dedicate her efforts towards organizational work. She is willing to wait for some time before making any further decisions. The party, state unit, and the Gandhi family are engaged in ongoing discussions to determine the suitable candidate for this seat if elections are held again.

Wayanad seat is a stronghold of Congress

When it comes to the Wayanad seat, it holds great significance for the Congress party as it is considered one of their strongholds. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi secured victory from Wayanad after facing defeat in Amethi, thus retaining his position as an MP. In the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul initially filed his nomination from Wayanad once again. However, he later decided to contest from the Rae Bareli seat, which was left vacant as Sonia Gandhi chose not to run for the elections. Rahul emerged victorious from Rae Bareli as well, leaving him with the decision to vacate one of the seats. Reports suggest that Rahul will be stepping down from the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat. In the 2024 elections, Rahul Gandhi defeated his closest competitor, CPI candidate Annie Raja, by a significant margin of 3,64,422 votes.

Gandhi family maintained its dominance on Rae Bareli seat

In reference to the Raebareli seat, it remained unoccupied during this election cycle as Sonia Gandhi chose not to participate. Extensive discussions took place within the party to determine the suitable candidate for this constituency. Ultimately, Rahul Gandhi was selected as the party’s candidate for this seat. He competed against BJP’s Dinesh Pratap Singh and emerged victorious with a margin of 3.90 lakh votes.
