Pune Porsche Crash: Investigation Expands Following ₹48,000 Bill, Pizza Consumption Preceding Alcohol Test.

Pune: The incident in Pune, where a 17-year-old hit two techies with a Porsche, has garnered significant attention, as fresh information regarding the accident continues to surface regularly. It has been reported that the teenager had reportedly spent ₹ 48,000 at a pub mere hours before the unfortunate incident occurred on May 19.

Here are the latest updates on the case:

  1. The Juvenile Justice Board is currently deliberating on whether the 17-year-old can be tried as an adult in the case. Pune Police requested this, arguing that the boy was fully aware of the serious consequences of drink driving. The boy was then sent to a remand home until June 5, following bail conditions that required him to write an essay on ‘drink driving’.
  2. Police disclosed that the boy and two friends, who were in the luxury car, had spent nearly ₹ 48,000 at a pub in Pune. The speeding Porsche collided with a bike, resulting in the tragic deaths of two software engineers, Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, who had come to Pune from Madhya Pradesh’s Indore in pursuit of career opportunities.
  3. After public outcry and a police review plea, the JJB extended the teen’s stay at the observation home until June 5.
  4. Additionally, the police have detained the teenager’s father in connection with the case. A viral rap song on social media claims to feature the 17-year-old accused, but both the police and the boy’s mother have confirmed that the video is fake. The boy’s mother stated, “The video being circulated is not of my son. It is fake. My son is in the detention centre.”
  5. The police are also looking into potential protocol violations in the aftermath of the incident, including allegations of preferential treatment for the son of a prominent city builder. These allegations involve downplaying the severity of the incident in initial reports and delaying a necessary medical examination to determine the boy’s blood alcohol level.
