On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a collection of commemorative postage stamps and a book, both dedicated to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The stamp book serves as a testament to the international admiration for Lord Ram, featuring stamps from over 20 countries. The 48-page book highlights these stamps, showcasing the global reverence for the revered deity.
The intricate design of the stamps is a visual representation of the essence of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir, encompassing six distinct components. These components include depictions of the Ram Mandir itself, the timeless Choupai ‘Mangal Bhavan Amangal Hari,’ a radiant portrayal of the sun, the sacred Saryu River, and various sculptures found in and around the temple.
The collection of six stamps within the series represents key figures and elements from the Ramayana. Notably, these include the Ram Temple, Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman, Jatayu, Kevatraj, and Ma Shabri.
In a video statement, Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be part of another program related to the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony. He emphasized the significance of the day as six postage stamps dedicated to the Ram Temple were released, alongside the unveiling of a book featuring stamps issued worldwide in honor of Lord Ram. This event marks a notable step in recognizing the global impact and admiration for the cultural and religious significance of the Ram Temple.
Each stamp in this remarkable collection exudes elegance, adorned with a touch of sophistication, featuring a gold leaf depiction of sun rays and the Choupai. This addition imparts a majestic aura to the entire miniature sheet, making these stamps truly unique.
What distinguishes these stamps is the incorporation of the ‘Panchabhutas,’ representing the five physical elements – sky, air, fire, earth, and water. Through carefully crafted design elements, the stamps symbolize the perfect harmony of Panchamahabhutas, a concept integral to Hindu philosophy and believed to be essential for all manifestations.
Complementing the stamp release is a 48-page book that delves into the global significance of Lord Ram. The book meticulously showcases stamps issued by over 20 countries, including notable nations like the United States, New Zealand, Singapore, Canada, Cambodia, and international organizations such as the United Nations. This comprehensive collection aims to underscore the universal appeal and profound influence of Lord Ram on diverse societies across the globe.
