“PM takes a swipe at the Congress, following the recovery of an unprecedented amount of Rs 351 crore in cash in MP”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a swipe at the Congress on Tuesday, following the seizure of black money worth Rs 350 crore and 3 kg of gold jewelry from the premises of Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu by the Income Tax Department.

Drawing a comparison to the popular show ‘Money Heist’, the Prime Minister remarked that the Congress has been plundering the nation for the past 70 years.

“In India, there is no need for the ‘money heist’ storyline when we have the Congress Party, whose history of theft has spanned 70 years and continues!” PM Modi stated in an Instagram post. He also shared a video titled “Congress presents ‘Money Heist!’” uploaded by the BJP.

During raids conducted at various locations in Odisha and Jharkhand linked to Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu, the Income Tax Department seized a staggering amount of Rs 353 crore in cash.

Officials have declared this cash recovery as the “highest ever” in a single operation conducted by any investigative agency in the country.

Following the recovery of over Rs 350 crore in cash, the ruling party in Odisha, Biju Janata Dal (BJD), along with the BJP and Congress, have engaged in a blame game, pointing fingers at each other.

The BJP in Odisha has accused the BJD government of granting the Sahu brothers complete freedom to engage in the country liquor business in the state over the past two decades.

In response, the BJD retaliated by stating that while the national leadership of the saffron party is questioning the Congress, the BJP leaders in Odisha are targeting the state government.

“The Odisha BJP leaders are contradicting themselves in this matter. In a sense, they have made a decision to somehow protect the Congress on this issue,” stated the BJD spokesperson.

However, the Congress argued that both the BJD and BJP have needlessly involved it in the controversy and claimed that these two parties are essentially the same.
