During his visit to Odisha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to unveil a multitude of development projects totaling over Rs 19,600 crore. Scheduled for Tuesday, this significant occasion coincides with the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, the namesake of the ruling BJD party in the state. The projects span various sectors, including oil and gas, railways, roads, transport, highways, and atomic energy.
In anticipation of PM Modi’s visit, Inspector General of Police Ashish Kumar Singh has assured adequate security measures. Over 3000 police personnel, under the command of senior officers, have been strategically deployed, with teams organized based on the scheduled programs.
Among the notable inaugurations, PM Modi will commence the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd’s mono ethylene glycol project at the Paradip refinery, a significant step towards reducing India’s import dependency. Additionally, he will dedicate a 344-km-long product pipeline linking Paradip in Odisha to Haldia in West Bengal.
Furthermore, to bolster import infrastructure along the eastern coast, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a 0.6 MMTPA LPG import facility in Paradip. He will also unveil several road projects, including the four-laning of sections of NH-49 and NH-18, along with the Tangi-Bhubaneswar section of NH-16.
PM Modi’s itinerary includes addressing a public gathering at Chandikhole in Jajpur district around 3:30 pm, marking a momentous occasion on the anniversary of Biju Patnaik’s birth, a day resonant with significance in Odisha’s political landscape.
In a bid to bolster the import infrastructure along the eastern coast, Prime Minister Modi is set to inaugurate a 0.6 MMTPA LPG import facility at Paradip. Additionally, he will unveil extensive road projects, including the four-laning of various sections of national highways such as NH-49 and NH-18, as well as the Tangi-Bhubaneswar section of NH-16.
Scheduled to arrive at Chandikhole in Jajpur district around 3:30 pm, the Prime Minister will address a public gathering, as confirmed by Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal. Notably, this event coincides with the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, after whom the ruling BJD party is named.
Furthermore, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the eight-laning of the Chandikhole-Paradip road and dedicate to the nation the 162-km-long Bansapani-Daitari-Tomka-Jakhapura rail line. This rail line is poised to not only enhance existing transportation capacity but also facilitate efficient movement of iron and manganese ore from Keonjhar to nearby ports and steel plants.
Moreover, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a 5-MGD seawater desalination plant at Odisha Sands Complex of Indian Rare Earths Ltd. This plant, developed as a part of indigenous desalination technologies by Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, signifies a significant stride in sustainable water management.
PM Modi’s upcoming visit follows his previous trip to the state on February 3, during which he unveiled projects worth over Rs 68,000 crore, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the region’s development and growth.
