The Prime Minister’s address was marked by opposition MPs’ continuous sloganeering, leading to a walkout by the opposition. PM Modi criticized their behavior, stating that they are unable to face the truth and are disrespecting the Upper House.
PM Modi expressed his surprise at witnessing individuals who had previously opposed Constitution Day now enthusiastically waving copies of the Constitution in Parliament.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other opposition MPs had waved the Constitution during the oath ceremony of newly-elected lawmakers last month.
PM Modi recalled his statement in the Lok Sabha about celebrating November 26 as Constitution Day, highlighting the irony of those who had objected to the idea back then. He emphasized the importance of the Constitution as a guiding light, providing valuable direction through its spirit and words.
During his speech in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi accused the Congress of conspiring to falsely portray Hindus as violent, amidst opposition slogans. He questioned the values and character of those spreading such narratives, countering Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on Hinduism.
Referring to Rahul Gandhi as “balak buddhi” (immature mind), PM Modi criticized the Leader of the Opposition for engaging in what he described as a theatrical display aimed at garnering sympathy. He pointed out Rahul Gandhi’s legal troubles and past controversial statements, questioning his credibility.
