Kartik Purnima 2023: A multitude of devotees are gathering at the railway station to embark on a journey to Patna for the sacred bath in the Ganga. The enthusiasm surrounding the Ganga bath on Kartik Purnima is evident throughout Bihar. In Jehanabad, the railway station and trains are witnessing a massive crowd due to this auspicious occasion. Devotees are flocking to the Patna-Gaya railway section, where both passenger and express trains are filled with people taking a dip in the holy river. The platform and overbridge stairs are brimming with devotees, and passengers are risking their safety to travel amidst the sea of people. From Jehanabad to Patna, all trains have been witnessing a significant number of devotees immersing themselves in the Ganga since evening. Notably, a majority of these devotees are women. It is worth mentioning that many of these devotees traveled without tickets. The crowd of devotees began to gather at Jehanabad station on Sunday evening itself, and even the air-conditioned and reserved coaches of express trains are filled with people bathing in the Ganga, resembling a herd of sheep and goats. A passenger heading to Patna mentioned the overcrowding in the train due to Ganga Dussehra. Consequently, he decided to disembark and wait for another train. Devotees explained that they are traveling to the Ganga Ghat in Patna on this Kartik Purnima to take a holy bath in the sacred Ganges and offer Arghya. The train is heavily crowded due to the significance of bathing in the Ganga. As a result, the passenger had to alight and wait for an alternative train.
