The Modi 3.0 governance plan, commencing with the initial 100 days agenda, is anticipated to encompass 50 to 70 significant objectives and recommendations to establish the tone and purpose of the new administration. These will be arranged in order of importance and priority.
Although the current list consists of 75-80 goals and proposals, sources familiar with the matter have indicated that the intention is to reduce it to 50.
As the Lok Sabha 2024 result is less than a month away, the government is in the final stages of formulating a new governing agenda for the upcoming term. This agenda will encompass the first 100 days of planning, as well as midterm and long-term objectives.
The Prime Minister has affirmed that his 100-day plan for the country is nearly finalized and will commence promptly after June 4 to avoid any delays in decision-making.
According to information obtained by ET, the shortlist of the 100-day agenda is also being categorized based on relevance and urgency.
There are three categories: A, B, and C.
Category A goals are of the utmost priority and are expected to be announced by the Prime Minister shortly after assuming office.
In contrast, Category B targets will be announced by Union ministers and Ministers of State within the first few days.
The Category C targets have a more long-term nature, with a planned implementation over the next 2-3 years, as per officials familiar with the matter.
Detailed discussions are currently taking place at the highest levels of government to address these objectives.
Secretaries and senior officials from various ministries have been engaged in rounds of meetings and presentations with the cabinet secretary, principal secretary to the PM, and Niti Aayog, which is coordinating the formulation of these goals.
The focal point of the planning process revolves around the 10 Sectoral Groups of Secretaries (SGoS), which were formed in mid-February, more than a month prior to the Lok Sabha elections being announced by the Modi government.
These ten SGoS have been given the responsibility of formulating a 100-day action plan, medium-term goals, and long-term objectives for the future governance in key sectors and themes.
The subjects and domains covered by the 10 SGOs include security and foreign relations, infrastructure, finance and economy, technology, rural and agricultural development, governance, commerce and industry, resources, welfare, and the social sector.
