Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who had suspended her membership in the INDIA bloc due to a disagreement with the Congress over seat-sharing, seems to have softened her stance. Today, the Chief Minister announced that she is willing to offer “external support” to the Opposition bloc if they come into power following the general election.
“We will guide the INDIA alliance and extend our assistance from the outside. We will establish a government to ensure that our mothers and sisters in Bengal do not encounter any issues, and those participating in the 100-days-job scheme do not face any obstacles,” she stated.
However, Banerjee clarified her definition of the INDIA bloc, emphasizing that it does not encompass the CPM or the Bengal Congress, which is led by her rival and senior Congress leader Adhir Chowdhury.
