Major Update on Teacher Transfers, LG Vinay Saxena Makes Key Decision !

Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Vinay Saxena has halted the recent teacher transfers, instructing the Chief Secretary and Education Director of the Delhi Government to ensure a fair transfer process. A recent directive had called for the transfer of 5000 teachers who had been teaching in Delhi government schools for a decade. This move was strongly opposed by Atishi, the Education Minister of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

What did the Lieutenant Governor say in the order?

Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has emphasized his commitment to improving the working conditions of government employees in order to enhance their performance. He has instructed the Chief Secretary and the Directorate of Education to approach the transfer of teachers with fairness and empathy. Additionally, he has requested a temporary postponement of the transfer orders for Delhi teachers. In response to the numerous letters received from government schools and teachers’ associations, a delegation met with the Lieutenant Governor at Raj Niwas on Saturday.

Atishi’s serious allegation on officials

Atishi, the Education Minister, had directed the officials to halt this activity; nevertheless, they disregarded her instructions. Subsequently, Atishi drafted a letter to the Chief Secretary, requesting the immediate annulment of the order.
