The NDA Government Formation is set to take place on 7 June, with Narendra Modi being sworn in as Prime Minister for a third consecutive term at 6 pm. Modi, along with other NDA leaders such as TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Bihar Chief Minister and JD (U) leader Nitish Kumar, is scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu today to officially claim government formation.
The Congress party received a boost in its Lok Sabha tally as Vishal Patil, the rebel candidate who won from Sangli Lok Sabha seat, extended support to the party along with the INDIA bloc and the Maha Vikas Aghadi. This positive development adds to the Congress’ recent string of good news.
In a press conference, Rahul Gandhi expressed concerns about the sudden surge of share prices after the exit polls and their subsequent decline on election results day, referring to it as the “biggest scam” in the history of Indian stock markets. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance currently holds 293 seats, while the Opposition’s INDIA bloc has 234 seats. The BJP itself has 240 seats, while the Congress reached a tally of 100 on Thursday night.

Chirag Paswan, the leader of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), has been chosen as the leader of the LJP (Ram Vilas) Parliamentary Party.
Regarding the upcoming NDA meeting, he states that it is merely a procedural step to select the Prime Minister as the leader of the NDA Parliamentary Party. He emphasizes that they contested the election under the leadership of the Prime Minister and have the capability to form the government for the third consecutive time with a resounding majority.
Furthermore, he dismisses any rumors of his party making demands and affirms their unwavering dedication to their leader, Narendra Modi. He clarifies that during the previous NDA meeting, LJP extended their support to the leadership of PM Modi without any conditions. Therefore, the party has no demands to make. He assures that no party presented any demands during that meeting, as everyone extended their support unconditionally.
