The plea of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal over a criminal defamation case, filed against him for retweeting a video of YouTuber Dhruv Rathee on BJP IT Cell, will be heard by the Supreme Court on Monday. Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta will preside over the matter. Previously, the Supreme Court had halted the proceedings.
This adds to Kejriwal’s legal challenges, as he recently obtained interim bail in the liquor policy case and was released from Tihar Jail. The Supreme Court has granted permission to the Delhi CM to campaign in the Lok Sabha election 2024.
As the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, Kejriwal is a prominent political figure in the country. Despite facing legal issues, he continues to criticize the government and authorities for allegedly abusing power to silence his voice.
