During a recent meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a candid conversation with prominent gaming creators in the country, focusing on the future prospects and obstacles faced by the e-gaming industry. The Prime Minister displayed a keen interest by posing intriguing questions to the gamers and even attempting to play some of the games himself.

In his interaction with leading Indian gamers, PM Modi delved into the distinctions between gaming and gambling. Furthermore, he encouraged the gamers to communicate their concerns by sending a detailed email highlighting the key issues directly to his office.

On being asked by the gamers if there can be a regulatory body (for gaming), PM Modi said, “To regulate would not be ideal because it is the nature of government to intervene, that is its fundamental nature. Either impose restrictions under the law or try to understand and mould it basis our country’s needs. Bring it under an organised, legal structure and uplift the reputation.

Once that is achieved, it will be hard for anyone to bring it down. My endeavour is to uplift the nation to a level that by 2047, the middle class does not require unnecessary government intervention. Otherwise, we will remain trapped in the cycle of paperwork, documents and legal systems. It is the poor who need the government the most in difficult times…”

Animesh Agarwal, Mithilesh Patankar, Payal Dhare, Naman Mathur, and Anshu Bisht were among the gaming creators who had the privilege of meeting Prime Minister Modi. They expressed their joy and excitement over the meeting, unanimously agreeing that the Prime Minister is the most influential figure in India. Agarwal and Patankar took to Instagram to share their thoughts, stating that they had a meaningful discussion with the Prime Minister about the esports industry and praised his vision for revolutionizing gaming in India.

Despite the age difference, the gamers mentioned that they didn’t feel any barrier while interacting with PM Modi. In a light-hearted manner, the Prime Minister even joked about coloring his hair white to signify maturity.

One female member of the gaming community described the experience as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The meeting between PM Modi and the gaming community has garnered significant attention nationwide due to the immense popularity of e-gaming among the youth. According to Invest India, the online gaming sector is the fourth largest in the country and holds tremendous growth potential.

PM Modi’s outreach to the gaming community reflects his commitment to establishing a strong connection with the youth for the nation’s progress. Gaming companies are enthusiastic about such engagements with the Prime Minister as they believe it will further enhance the industry’s presence in the country.

From an electoral perspective, political analysts view this as PM Modi’s strategy to engage with young voters. This is not an isolated incident, as last month, PM Modi’s meeting with social media influencers sparked a renewed discussion on his connection with the youth.

During the National Creators’ Award ceremony, the Prime Minister honored numerous creators, primarily in the age group of 20-30 years. Among them were Jahnvi Singh (20), Maithili Thakur (23), Jaya Kishori (28), Nischay Malhan (28), Ranveer Allahbadia (30), and many others.

Recently, a teaser featuring PM Modi was released, which quickly went viral on social media.
