Anurag Yadav, the NEET candidate who was apprehended due to result irregularities, has confessed that the leaked question paper he received was identical to the actual exam paper. In an exclusive confession letter obtained by India Today, 22-year-old Yadav, who is the nephew of an engineer working at Bihar’s Danapur Town Council (Danapur Nagar Parishad), revealed that his relative Sikandar Prasad Yadavendu had informed him that all necessary arrangements for the exam had been made. Additionally, Yadav mentioned that he was given the leaked NEET exam question paper along with the corresponding answers.
The confessional letter also bore Yadav’s signature:
This development occurred several hours subsequent to India Today obtaining a confession letter from Yadavendu, along with certain documents, which disclosed the purported implication of a ‘Mantri Ji’, who purportedly endorsed the accommodation of Yadav, his mother, and other associates at an official residence in Patna.
The Ministry of Education is requesting a report:
In relation to the alleged irregularities during the NEET exam in Patna, the Union Education Ministry has requested a comprehensive report from the Bihar Police’s Economic Offences Unit. These allegations of misconduct, including question paper leaks, have sparked protests and legal petitions in various cities and courts.
A senior official from the ministry stated that upon receiving the detailed report, the government will take appropriate action. The government remains committed to upholding the integrity of examinations and safeguarding the interests of students. Any individual or organization found to be involved in these irregularities will face severe consequences.
The NEET UG examination took place on May 5, with approximately 24 lakh candidates appearing across 4,750 centers. Although the results were initially scheduled for June 14, they were announced earlier on June 4 due to the early completion of answer sheet evaluations.
