Rohit Shetty introduced Deepika Padukone as the first female cop in his cinematic universe. In a recent reveal, Shetty shared a glimpse of Deepika in her cop avatar from the upcoming film. Notably, Deepika also recreated the iconic ‘Singham’ hook step in the still.
In his post, Rohit expressed, “My hero, both on screen and off screen, Lady Singham!!! @deepikapadukone (sic).”
Deepika Padukone’s portrayal of Lady Singham in Rohit Shetty’s copverse, ‘Singham Again’, was officially announced in December 2022. During the launch of the song ‘Current Laga Re’, Deepika showcased a glimpse of her powerful walk as Lady Singham.
At the ‘Cirkus’ event, Rohit Shetty discussed Deepika Padukone’s role as Lady Singham, stating, “The truth will eventually come out, so I’ll reveal it now. Our next film is ‘Singham’ from our cop universe. Every time I’m asked ‘When will Lady Singham arrive?’, I can now say that ‘Singham Again’ will feature a Lady Singh, portrayed by Deepika Padukone. She is the lady cop of our cop universe, and we are excited to work on this project next year.”
The star-studded cast of ‘Singham Again’ includes Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Ranveer Singh.
