“King of SUVs: Tata Motors Celebrates Over 20 Lakh SUVs Sold with Festival Discounts up to ₹1.40 Lakh!”

Tata Motors, a domestic automotive manufacturer, declared on Tuesday that they have achieved a significant milestone with over 2 million sports utility vehicles (SUVs) now being driven on Indian roads. The range consists of models like the Safari, Harrier, Nexon, and Punch, in addition to iconic names such as the Sierra and the Safari.

Ever since the introduction of India’s first SUV, the Tata Sierra, in 1991, and the introduction of innovative models like the compact Nexon in 2014 and the sub-compact Punch, Tata Motors has been a trailblazer in the SUV segment.

Vivek Srivatsa, the Chief Commercial Officer at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., highlighted their strategy of providing durable, safe, and technologically advanced SUVs, which has allowed them to maintain their leadership position in the market.

In a company statement, Srivatsa mentioned, “With the support of our multi-powertrain strategy, our goal is to offer Indian consumers top-notch SUVs that are durable, safe, and technologically advanced. Achieving the milestone of 2 million SUV sales is a testament to this strategy and sets the tone for the future growth of the SUV segment.”

To commemorate this accomplishment, Tata Motors is launching the ‘King of SUVs’ festival, with revised starting prices for their flagship models, the Harrier (₹14.99 lakhs) and Safari (₹15.49 lakhs), along with benefits of up to ₹1.4 lakhs on popular SUV variants.

Special benefits on electric vehicles like the Nexon EV (up to ₹1.3 lakhs) and Punch EV (up to ₹30,000) are also part of the celebration. The festivities include ongoing offers on the Nexon EV, marking 7 lakh units on the road.

Additionally, Tata Motors reported a 2% increase in global sales to 3,29,847 units in the June quarter, compared to 3,22,159 units in the previous quarter. Passenger vehicle sales saw a 1% decline year-on-year, while Jaguar Land Rover dispatches increased by 5%. Commercial vehicle sales, including Tata Daewoo, rose by 6% in Q1 FY25.
