Kapil Sibal, a veteran senior advocate, has announced his candidacy for the position of President in the upcoming Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) elections.
This marks his return to the race after a gap of more than two decades, having previously served as the President of SCBA in 2001-02. Prior to that, he had also held the position twice, from 1995-1996 and 1997-1998.
The elections for the Executive Committee of SCBA, which includes the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, will take place on May 16. The deadline for filing nominations is May 9. Currently, the incumbent President of SCBA is Senior Advocate Adish Aggarwala.
