Details on Neha Hiremath Case:

In a tragic turn of events, Neha Hiremath, the daughter of Congress corporator Niranjan Hiremath, tragically lost her life after being stabbed seven times with a knife by a former student at BV Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering and Technology in Hubballi, Karnataka, on April 18, as per NDTV. The perpetrator, identified as Fayaz, was expeditiously apprehended by the authorities.

The incident occurred within the college premises while Neha was present. Law enforcement officials suspect that the assailant, who was acquainted with Neha, carried out the assault following her rejection of his romantic advances. Hubballi Dharwad Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar remarked, “The culprit attempted to flee, but we managed to detain him within 90 minutes. According to statements from other students, Neha and the perpetrator were familiar with each other and had previously studied together. Further details will be revealed following the completion of the perpetrator’s interrogation.”

NDTV reported that Neha, a student pursuing her Master of Computer Applications, was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately declared brought dead. The incident occurred on Thursday, April 18, around 5 pm when Neha was walking on the campus. Fayaz, who was also a student at the same college but had dropped out, confronted her. CCTV footage captured a brief exchange before Fayaz viciously attacked Neha. She fell to the ground after the initial assault, and the assailant continued to stab her at least six more times.

According to the victim’s mother, she had spoken to Neha over the phone just five minutes before the chaos erupted. Someone informed her that Neha had been stabbed. The mother expressed her disbelief and stated that she had not seen her daughter’s face yet. She still held onto the hope that Neha was alive and couldn’t accept the fact that she was gone. The mother shared that they had sent Neha to college with the expectation of seeing her happy and smiling.
