At the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay’s annual Techfest, Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, unveiled the ongoing collaboration between the company and the institute. He revealed their joint initiative aimed at creating the ‘Bharat GPT’ program.
As per PTI reports, Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, revealed the ongoing ‘Bharat GPT’ initiative in association with the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay. This disclosure came during Ambani’s recent address at the institute’s annual Techfest.
In his speech, Ambani emphasized the vital role of fostering a robust developmental ecosystem and reiterated the company’s commitment to actualizing the ‘Jio 2.0’ vision. The collaborative Bharat GPT program, which commenced its partnership with IIT Bombay back in 2014, aims to harness the potential of generative AI inspired by advanced language models like ChatGPT. This strategic endeavor aligns with Jio’s overarching strategy to explore and implement the transformative capabilities of artificial intelligence across diverse industries.
Apart from introducing the Bharat GPT program, Ambani introduced Jio’s ambitious foray into television technology. He revealed that the company has been actively engaged in creating its proprietary operating system (OS) tailored for televisions, expanding its range of products beyond telecommunication services. Ambani emphasized the thorough strategy involved in rolling out this TV OS, emphasizing Jio’s dedication to broadening its footprint across media, commerce, communication, and device sectors.
