Jagan Mohan Reddy, the YSRCP chief and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has accused the Chandrababu Naidu-led government of deteriorating law and order in the state. In an interview , Reddy claimed that the TDP-led government, which assumed power recently, is engaging in personal vendettas at all levels.
Reddy highlighted that within just 45 days of Chandrababu’s government, there were 36 murder cases, over 300 attempted murders, and destruction of more than 590 properties in Andhra Pradesh. The YSRCP leader emphasized that the state has been plagued by lawlessness and anarchy ever since the NDA took charge.
He demanded the imposition of President’s Rule in Andra Pradesh, citing a surge in violence allegedly caused by the TDP government’s actions. “We are planning a peaceful demonstration in New Delhi on the 24th of July, which falls on the upcoming Wednesday. The purpose is to bring national attention to the chaos and disorder that have engulfed Andhra Pradesh in the 45 days since the Chandrababu Naidu administration took charge,” he stated.
“During the initial 45 days of Naidu’s tenure, there were 36 political killings and 300 attempted murders. The TDP supporters are reportedly receiving backing from the government, and the Chief Minister’s son possesses a ‘red book’ containing a list of individuals targeted for attacks. The law enforcement is said to be no longer in control,” the former Chief Minister alleged.
YS Reddy stated that personal vendettas are being pursued at all levels, from villages to states, leading to the deterioration of law and order in Andhra Pradesh. He also mentioned seeking appointments with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu, and Home Minister Amit Shah to inform them about the worsening situation.
The YSRCP chief emphasized the need to meet with the central leadership and highlighted recent incidents, such as the attack on an MP and the burning of his car. Additionally, Reddy visited the family of a slain party activist and criticized the police for allegedly misrepresenting the motive behind the murder.
