Internet is abuzz with the ‘Salaar’ BO scam controversy as netizens are sharing their ordeals through screenshots and videos.

The creators are also facing accusations of significant manipulation of box-office numbers, with claims of inflating the figures by nearly ₹100 crore! Prabhas’ latest release, Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire, has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons since Tuesday evening, 26 December.

Internet users have been sharing videos that expose how the Salaar team allegedly portrayed the morning shows as sold out on the BookMyShow app and other ticket booking apps.

However, in reality, all multiplexes were closed during the morning hours.

As a result of this latest development, the box office collections of the film starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran have come under scrutiny. Netizens are questioning whether the collections of Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire are genuine or just a marketing ploy to attract more viewers.

The producers of Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire are currently facing allegations of significant manipulation of box office figures, with claims that they have inflated the numbers by almost ₹100 crore!

The controversy arose when the official poster stated that the film had made ₹402 crore worldwide within three days. However, various trade and entertainment websites, such as Box Office India and Pinkvilla, reported that the actual figures were ₹304 crore.

Typically, there is a slight difference of around ₹8 to 10 crore between the official and trade figures for a film. However, in the case of Salaar, this difference is estimated to be a staggering ₹100 crore!

Meanwhile, netizens praised the makers of Animal for providing accurate box office numbers without any inflation, even down to ₹1 crore, while the makers of Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire inflated the figures by a massive ₹100 crore.

This is an alarming trend, as most people are aware of the actual numbers due to the availability of various tracking systems, as pointed out by one user.
