Amidst the ongoing protests in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, has made a firm commitment that India will reclaim PoK from its estranged neighbor. Speaking at a rally in Serampore, West Bengal, the prominent BJP leader highlighted that while peace has been restored in Jammu and Kashmir following the revocation of Article 370 by his party’s government, the calls for freedom in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) have grown louder.
Amit Shah emphasized that prior to the revocation of special status in Jammu and Kashmir in 2019, there were incidents of stone pelting in the region. However, he pointed out that now, stones are being pelted in PoK.
In response to Mani Shankar Aiyar’s viral statement suggesting that India should respect Pakistan as an atomic power, Amit Shah confidently stated that India will reclaim PoK, regardless of Pakistan’s possession of nuclear weapons.
He stated, “Congress leaders like Mani Shankar Aiyar argue against it, citing Pakistan’s possession of atomic bombs. However, let me make it clear – Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is an integral part of India, and we will reclaim it,” as reported by PTI.
As the star campaigner for the BJP, Amit Shah also mentioned that West Bengal, under the governance of the Trinamool Congress, will have to make a choice between voting for “jihad” or voting for “vikas” (development).
Meanwhile, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, claimed that if the BJP secures more than 400 Lok Sabha seats, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir will be assimilated into India.
If the BJP secures more than 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, PoK will be integrated with India. The party aims to construct the ‘Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi’ temple and ‘Gyanvapi temple’, as well as enforce the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). This is similar to when the party exceeded the 300-seat threshold in 2019, leading to the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Additionally, the BJP successfully revoked Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir and implemented the CAA,” stated Himanta Biswa Sarma.
