According to Sources Prime Minister Narendra Modi clarified his recent remarks about “infiltrators” and “those with more children,” emphasizing that his comments were not directed solely at Muslims but at all impoverished families. He stressed that he strives for unity and development for all, rather than catering to specific vote banks. Modi highlighted the importance of responsible family planning, regardless of religious or social background, to prevent situations where the government must intervene to support children.
During his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, PM Modi addressed the post-Godhra riots and acknowledged that his opponents had damaged his reputation among the Muslim community after the tragic events of 2002. He emphasized that this issue should not be generalized to all Muslims, as there are individuals who have been supportive of him. PM Modi shared personal anecdotes to illustrate his close ties with Muslim families, highlighting how they celebrated Eid and other festivals together. He mentioned that during Eid, food would be sent to his house from Muslim families, and he was familiar with the customs and traditions associated with Muharram. PM Modi emphasized that even today, he maintains friendships with many Muslims. However, he acknowledged that his image suffered after the Godhra riots.
When asked about the possibility of Muslims voting for him in the current Lok Sabha election, he responded by stating that the “people of the country will vote for me.”
“The moment I engage in religious politics, I would no longer be fit to serve in the public sphere. I refuse to engage in religious politics. This is my commitment,” stated PM Modi.
During a public rally in Rajasthan, Prime Minister Modi accused the Congress party of attempting to seize the wealth and assets of the people and distribute it among “those who have more children.”
In reference to reports about the Congress party’s intention to redistribute wealth if they come into power, the Prime Minister mentioned that the party would conduct a survey and would even go to the extent of not allowing women to keep their Mangalsutras.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi submitted his nomination papers for the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh. He is seeking a third consecutive term from this constituency and is aiming to secure a victory with a significant margin. PM Modi, who is the current Member of Parliament and the BJP’s candidate, filed his nomination papers at the district magistrate’s office. The polling for Varanasi will take place in the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections on June 1. The vote counting will be conducted on June 4.
