Guerilla Games’ expansive action-adventure title, Horizon Forbidden West, is set to mark its debut on the PC platform. Recently announced by PlayStation, the Complete Edition of this sci-fi open-world epic, encompassing the Burning Shores expansion from 2023, is slated to hit PC on March 21. Nixxes Software, a Sony-owned studio renowned for its work on PC ports of first-party PlayStation titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, has taken on the responsibility of bringing Horizon Forbidden West to PC. This PC launch follows the game’s initial release on the PS4 and PS5 in 2022, aligning with Sony’s strategy of gradually introducing exclusive games to the PC platform.

In a detailed PlayStation blog post on January 25, Nixxes Software shared insights into the PC features and pre-order options for Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition. The game promises unlocked framerates, an array of customizable graphics settings, and compatibility with advanced technologies such as Nvidia DLSS 3 for upscaling and frame generation, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS for enhanced performance. The blog also highlighted that players with high-end hardware can leverage NVIDIA DLAA for image enhancement. Moreover, the game will make use of DirectStorage for swift loading times on PC.

Additionally, Horizon Forbidden West on PC will cater to ultra-wide resolutions, supporting formats like 21:9 ultra-wide, 32:9 super ultra-wide, and even 48:9 resolutions for those opting for an ultra-wide experience with triple-monitor setups. Players will retain full control customization options, whether they prefer mouse and keyboard or controllers. The PlayStation DualSense controller will bring adaptive triggers and haptic feedback to the PC version, elevating the overall immersive gameplay experience.
