Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium is the world’s biggest cricket stadium. It is Narendra Modi’s dream. It all started a few years back. The Gujarat Cricket Association’s vice-president at the time was having a chat with Narendra Modi, then the President of Gujarat Cricket Association, and now the Prime Minister of India.

Narendra Modi wanted to know why the old stadium hadn’t been renovated for so long. He said, “It’s been over 25 years since the stadium was built. There’s no point in renovating it now. If we need to build a stadium, let’s build the biggest one in the world.” The journey of this stadium began with a vision of a world-class stadium. Now that you know how this stadium came to be the largest in the world, let’s discuss what makes it unique.

What are the best features of the world’s largest cricket stadium?

Fans who come to its court can watch the game from the stands. They can also watch the match from the corporate box, which consists of 76 corporate boxes. Each of these boxes has 25 seats. On the third floor of the stadium, the President’s Box can be found. This box is dedicated to BCCI guests, GCA guests and ICC guests. The seating class in this box allows the best seat in the house to view the match from the middle wicket.

So let us tell you, there are a total of 11 wickets in this. Of which 5 are from local black soil, 5 are from a combination of Mumbai red soil, Marma yellow soil and local black soil. So 1 pitch is made of red soil of Mumbai and black soil of Odisha. In this, 75% red soil is from Mumbai and 25% black soil is from Odisha.

It has a sand based outfield with a sub-soil drainage system. The pre-season renovation has been done immediately after IPL 2023, and the groundsmen have completed all the work before formally handing it over to the World Cup 2023 Organizing Committee.

There are a total of four dressing rooms here, two on each side. The dressing room is spacious and has photographs of India’s 1983 World Cup and 2011 World Cup wins. There is a viewing gallery where players and support staff can view the field before going into the dugout. There are three physio rooms on each side of the dressing room, two on each side of the playing field.

There is also a large lunch room and briefing room for home and away teams. The dressing room is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including a gym.
