Unveiling Dubai’s Ambitious Project – The World’s Largest Airport !

New Delhi: Construction has commenced on a new terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai, with the aim of establishing it as the largest airport in the world. In the coming years, all operations at Dubai International Airport will be gradually transferred to Al Maktoum International Airport, as confirmed by the ruler of the emirate.

The announcement was made by UAE PM HH Sheikh Mohammad on X, stating, “Today, we have given our approval for the designs of the new passenger terminals at Al Maktoum International Airport and have initiated the construction of the facility, which will cost AED 128 billion as part of Dubai Aviation Corporation’s strategic plan.”

Dubai boasts the world’s largest airport, showcasing a multitude of impressive features.

Capacity: Al Maktoum International Airport will feature the highest passenger capacity globally, with the ability to accommodate a staggering 260 million travelers each year.

Size: The new airport will be five times bigger than the existing Dubai International Airport.

Infrastructure: The smooth operations at the airport will be facilitated by the provision of 400 aircraft gates.

Runways: It will feature five parallel runways to efficiently manage air traffic.

Innovation: The project aims to bring forth innovative aviation technologies, representing a notable progression in the aviation industry.

Cost: The project will cost about ₹2900 Crores. 

Timeline: Within a decade, the initial stage of development will be finalized, with a capacity to cater to 150 million passengers annually. The leader emphasized the construction of a complete city encompassing the airport in Dubai South, which will serve as a home to renowned corporations in the logistics and air transport industries. This ambitious endeavor will necessitate housing arrangements for a million individuals. Furthermore, he expressed the intention to create a novel undertaking that will secure perpetual and steady progress for future generations. Dubai aspires to become the ultimate global destination, encompassing an airport, a port, an urban hub, and a new worldwide epicenter.
