“Empowering Futures:-The Pragati Scholarship Initiative for Girls Pursuing Technical Diplomas”.

About: AICTE, the Ministry of Education, is offering a scholarship to help girls who are in their first or second year of a technical diploma course at an AICTE-approved institution. Up to two girls in the same family can get the benefits, which can last up to three years for first year students and up to two years for second year students. This program is all about helping young women reach their full potential by giving them access to knowledge, skills, and confidence.

Benefits:

Rs. 50k/- per year for each year of study (3 years for first year admitted students and 2 years for 2nd year admitted students via lateral entry) as a lump sum for college fee, college expenses, computer expenses, stationery expenses, books expenses, equipment expenses, software expenses, etc.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be female students.
  • Applicants must be either in the 1st year of Diploma or in the 2nd year of Diploma through lateral entry.
  • The family income (all sources) shall not exceed Rs. 8 lakh per year in the financial year under review.
  • AICTE will award the scholarship to all the eligible girls (who will submit the online scholarship form), who are from the 13 Union Territories and the North Eastern States of the Union, i.e., Andaman And Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh (Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland and Dadra Haveli, Daman & Diu) and Lakshadweep. Arunachal Pradesh Assam Manipur Meghalaya Mizoram Nagaland Sikkkim Tripura

Rejection:

  • If a student fails/resigns in the following year, they will not be considered for another scholarship.
  • If it is established that the student is receiving scholarship/emoluments/salary/stipend/etc. from any other sources during her stay at the institute, then the scholarship will be discontinued.
  • If there’s a gap of at least two years between when you passed your qualifying exam and when you were admitted to a degree course.
  • This scholarship is only available to families with at least two girls.

How To Apply (Online):

Step 1:

  • Keep ready the soft copies of the required documents.
  • Go to http://www.scholarships.gov.in/. and click “New Registration”.
  • Guidelines for Registration will appear. Scroll to the bottom.
  • Read carefully the undertaking. Accept the Terms. Click “Continue”.

Step 2:

  • A Registration Form will appear. (The fields marked as * are compulsory)
  • Fill in the details and click “Register”.
  • Your Application ID and password will be displayed.
  • The same will also be sent as an SMS on your registered mobile number.

Step 3: 

  • Go to https://scholarships.gov.in/fresh/newstdRegfrmInstruction
  • Click on “Login to Apply”. Enter your Application ID and password.
  • Type the Captcha and click “Login”.
  • On the next screen, provide the OTP received on your registered mobile number. You will be directed to the Password Reset screen.
  • Create a new password and confirm.
  • Click “Submit”. You will be directed to the “Applicant’s Dashboard”.

 Step 4: 

  • On the left pane, click “Application Form”. The fields marked as * are compulsory. Fill the details and upload the documents.
  • You can either click on “Save as Draft” to complete the application later.
  • Else, click “Final Submit” to submit the application.

  • Copy of HSC/12th certificate (In case of Degree level).
  • Copy of ITI certificate (In case of Lateral Entry for Diploma level).
