“Divine Discoveries: Survey Report on Vishnu and Hanuman Sculptures in the Gyanvapi Complex”

Lucknow: The ASI has recently discovered ancient statues of Lord Vishnu and Hanuman in the Gyanvapi complex. These significant findings were revealed during a thorough investigation conducted by the ASI.

Based on the comprehensive archaeological survey report, numerous artifacts linked to Lord Hanuman and Vishnu have been discovered at the excavation site. Additionally, the temple complex has unveiled several idols of esteemed deities, albeit some of them have suffered partial damage. Notably, the idol of Lord Hanuman is incomplete, preserving only half of its original form.

One of the discoveries includes a fragment of a sculpture from the Early Medieval period, which portrays a figure that is half-human and half-snake. This fragment is thought to depict a servant of Lord Vishnu’s Varaha incarnation. The Vishnu statue, found during the excavation, is notable for its depiction of a wheel, a conch shell, and four hands.

A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court by a Hindu sect, leading to legal debates due to recent discoveries. The sect is advocating for an excavation approach similar to the one implemented at Ram Janmabhoomi. Vishnu Shankar Jain, the lawyer representing the Hindu side, highlighted the importance of conducting a meticulous excavation at the Gyanvapi complex. He emphasized the need to preserve the existing structure while avoiding any potential damage.
