“Dive into History: Gujarat Unveils India’s First Submarine Tourism in Dwarka”

The government of Gujarat intends to introduce the inaugural submarine-based underwater tourism facility in Dwarka, marking a significant milestone for India. This innovative initiative will provide tourists with the opportunity to observe the captivating marine life thriving in the city’s waters.

The Gujarat government is preparing to introduce a submarine service exclusively for tourists in the state. This initiative aims to offer visitors the opportunity to explore the marine life in Dwarka, an ancient city believed to have been submerged under the sea. In order to bring this project to life, the state government has entered into a memorandum with Mazgaon Dock shipbuilders, a significant step towards making this vision a reality. Dwarka holds immense cultural significance as the ‘city of the Hindu God Lord Krishna’.

This groundbreaking endeavor will mark the first-ever underwater tourism facility in India, utilizing a submarine for exploration. The government has set a target to commence operations before Diwali in October 2024. According to the plan, tourists will be taken 100 meters below the sea in a submarine to witness the captivating underwater marine life. Each submarine will accommodate up to 24 tourists and will be expertly guided by two experienced pilots and a professional crew. The design of the vessel will ensure that every passenger has a window view, enhancing their overall experience.

In an interview with India Today TV, Saurabh Pardhi, the Managing Director of Gujarat Tourism, expressed his belief that the submarine facility will have a positive impact on tourism in Dwarka. He described the project as unique and stated that it has the potential to significantly enhance the city’s tourism industry.

Under this initiative, tourists will have the opportunity to explore the marine life near Dwarka through submarine rides. The primary goal of the project is to promote tourism in Gujarat and improve the facilities available to visitors of religious sites. Pardhi emphasized that passenger safety will be given utmost priority throughout the entire experience.
